Biography

CEIBS

Dr. Sophie Chen is Professor of Management Practice at CEIBS. She has previously taught at China Institute of Banking and the Business School of The University of Auckland, and worked as a senior executive for companies in the securities and credit rating industry for several years. Dr. Chen began case development, teaching and research at CEIBS in 2005; currently she’s the Programme Director for both the Management Development Programme and the Advanced Management Programme. Dr. Chen has been active in providing management training, leadership coaching and consulting services for domestic companies and organisations.

Prof. Chen received her Ph.D. from The University of Auckland, majoring in Management and Employment Relations. Her research has been published in international academic journals including the International Journal of Human Resource Management, the Asia Pacific Journal of Management, and Employee Relations. Besides being a regular contributor to Chinese management journals, she has also edited and co-authored management textbooks and chapters.
