Sharda Nandram

Dr. Sharda S. Nandram is Associate Professor at Nyenrode Business Universiteit within the Center for Entrepreneurship & Stewardship. Her topics of interest are Entrepreneurship, Spirituality, Organizational Innovation and Indian Leadership.

Sharda has two bachelors and two masters’ degrees to her credit. One in Work and Organizational Psychology at the University of Amsterdam and the other in General Economics at the University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. She completed her PhD in Social Sciences (on the topic of motivation towards stewardship in trade unions) at the Vrije University of Amsterdam.

Sharda has an international orientation and exposure. She is a Dutch resident, was born in Surinam, and is of Indian origin, the third generation immigrant hailing from a family from Jodhpur, Rajasthan.

Other positions
Next to her activities for Nyenrode, Sharda is also Professor on the Buurtzorg Chair Sustainable Entrepreneurship and Organizational Innovation at the Institute of Finance and International Management (IFIM), in Bangalore India. Furthermore, she is  co-founder of Praan Solutions where she guides the implementations of alternative economic models and spiritual practices for Businesses.

  In addition, she is member of the Supervisory Board Stichting Jonge Ondernemer Achterhoek en Liemers, board member of the Steering Committee of the European Society of Spirituality and Economics (SPES) and a trustee for FCCI (Foundation of Critical Choices in India). Furthermore, Sharda is an advisor for GOPIO International (Global Organization of People of Indian Origin), advisor, founder and former president of Women Council GOPIO Holland and Stichting ASA (NGO for small scale activities to alleviate Poverty in India), and advisor of Skerpe Jeugd, an academy on sports and mental development for youth.
