Professor Friedman has trained with the American Conservatory Theatre, Southern Methodist University/International Stage Movement Institute, Lessac Institute for Voice and Speech and Alexander Technique with Marjorie Barstow. He taught at Washington University in St. Louis from 1966–81, and has been at Boston University from 1981 to the present. Professor Friedman is the Director of over 90 productions including more than a dozen new works. His most recent productions at BU are Prelude to a Kiss, The Visit, and Three Sisters. His most recent professional credits are The Philadelphia Story (Pendragon Theatre, Saranac Lake, New York), Conversations with My Father (New Jewish Theatre, St. Louis). and “Five Across—One Down” (Boston Playwrights’ Theatre, September 2010).
