Harvard Medical School

Dr. Yawetz earned her BSc and MD from Tel-Aviv University in Israel. She completed an internal medicine residency at the West LA VAMC/UCLA in Los Angeles, California, and infectious diseases and HIV fellowships at the Mass General Brigham (MGB) Combined Training Program at Harvard Medical School. She has been a faculty member of Harvard Medical School (HMS) and Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) since 1999. Her areas of expertise include HIV and women and maternal infectious health and infection prevention. She’s the director of the Ryan White HIV Program for Women and Youth at BWH and a consultant to MGB Occupational Health services, overseeing protocols for blood born pathogen exposures. Dr. Yawetz is the co-chair of the BWH Infectious Diseases’ Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, and sits on the hospital’s Quality Assurance and Risk Management Committee. She’s a member of the Infectious Diseases Society of Americas urinary tract infection guidelines expert panel. During the COVID-19 pandemic Dr. Yawetz has been involved in inpatient and outpatient care for COVID patients. She’s a member of the hospital’s COVID-19 treatment guideline committee and has developed policies addressing COVID-19 in pregnancy and at the Center for Women and Newborns.
