Research Summary

Dr. Thambisetty teaches at graduate and undergraduate levels and researches on patent law, innovation and legal institutions. In addition to several book chapters, she has published in Jurimetrics, the Oxford Journal of Legal Studies, the European Intellectual Property Review, Intellectual Property Quarterly and Nature Biotechnology.

In 2011-12 she received an inter-disciplinary award from the EPSRC to work on synthetic biology and was visiting fellow at the Division of Molecular Biosciences at Imperial College, London. Her policy work includes papers on human genome research and development for the Commission on Intellectual Property Rights 2002, patent litigation for the Strategic Advisory Board on Intellectual Property 2009 and an academic expert report to the Nuffield Bioethics Council Working Group on Emerging Biotechnologies, 2012.

She is a research affiliate of IP Osgoode at York University, was the first Regional Champion for India at the London school of Economics, and is a Fellow of the RSA.
