Biography
SDA Bocconi School of Management
I am a coach and leadership development practitioner and I work with leaders from around the world to help them achieve breakthroughs for themselves and their organizations. I see leadership development as a pathway to greater societal value, and I am naturally inclined to engage with mission driven individuals, groups and institutions.
My notion of leadership is wholesome and encompasses the intellectual, emotional and instinctual domains. I partner with clients to help them access these domains for greater presence and more conscious actions, in service of possibilities emerging from their future. In my practice, I strive to be pragmatic, generative and compassionate.
In the last few years I have been practicing my leadership work within the World Bank Group, where I head the executive coaching program. I coordinate a global cadre of coaches and we partner globally with hundreds of leaders across six world regions to co-create the leadership qualities required by our goal to eliminate extreme poverty in the world by 2030. Before the US, I was Head of L&D at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in London, UK. During this time I earned my professional coaching qualifications, and I started experimenting integrating coaching in management development programs.
I received my PhD in Business Administration in 2000, while I was a professor at Bocconi University in Milan, Italy. I taught Human Resources Management in the public sector and international development at all academic levels. At the School of Management, I designed, coordinated and delivered dozens of executive development programs, especially for local government organizations. I also founded and directed Bocconi’s first Master of Public Management, an international program for young professionals from all over the world.
My coaching qualifications are certified by the International Coaching Federation (ICF). In addition to my formal training and experience, my practice is informed by what I have learned in more that fifteen years of personal development with teachers from various disciplines, cultures and nationalities.
