Zicklin School of Business

Stephan Dilchert, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Management in the Narendra Paul Loomba Department of Management and the academic director of the Executive Master of Science program in Human Resource Management. He was also a recipient of the Zicklin School’s 2013 Teaching Excellence Award.

Dr. Dilchert’s research focuses on the role of personality, intelligence, and other human capital variables in personnel decisions, particularly as they pertain to how these characteristics relate to employee creativity, performance, and counterproductive behaviors. He also has an active research program on the role of employees in organizational sustainability efforts and has edited a practitioner-oriented book on the topic.

In addition to research and teaching, Dilchert serves on the editorial boards of several academic journals and works with business, government, and nonprofit organizations to develop cutting-edge recruitment and talent management systems. Most recently, a talent management system he helped design for a multinational consumer goods company was awarded a prestigious Brandon Hall Excellence Award.

Along with a PhD in industrial and organizational psychology from the University of Minnesota, Dr. Dilchert holds SHRM-SCP certification from the Society for Human Resource Management and SPHR certification from the Human Resources Certification Institute.
