Biography

Fordham University

My profession and educational experience has led me along a path that will continue to keep me involve in the realm of higher education. As a member of the food industry and a leader within a restaurant company, I learned to value the importance of hard work, team cohesion, communication, problem solving and customer service. Throughout my experience with a service immersion program I developed a skill set that included leadership and mission development, delegation, organization, supervision, professionalism, and integrity. I was able to better understand the importance of patience, empathy, and dedication during my time as a social work intern. Now that I am a member of an admissions team, I am continuing to grow as I am exposed to new skill sets such as program development, policy analysis and implementation, management techniques and enrollment strategies.

My professional experience would not have been possible had it not been for the foundation that has been created by my Jesuit-based educational background. Since high school I have been surrounded by people and programs that believe our fundamental responsibility is to be a person for an with others while striving for justice in an often unjust society. This foundation, especially in my training as a licensed social worker, will help to better prepare me to make informed, thoughtful, inclusive and just decisions and I continue my journey within the sphere of higher education.
