Steve Blum serves his alma mater—Yale University—as its Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives (AYA). For close to a decade before that, Steve was Managing Director and then Chief Operating Officer at Burnham Securities, Inc. in New York. Steve has provided merger and acquisition, partnering/alliance, corporate finance and valuation advice to hundreds of publicly and privately held domestic and global companies. Prior to his stints with Burnham Securities and Yale, for 20 years Steve was a KPMG partner, helping establish the firm's valuation practice, and -- as KPMG's national director of corporate finance -- leading KPMG to the number one M&A global ranking in terms of completed transactions for much of the 1990s. Steve holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics (with honors) from Yale University and a Masters degree from New York University's Stern Business School. He has taught and written on merger and acquisition topics, and is also a CPA and Accredited Senior Appraiser.
