Susan Elizabeth Peters

Dr. Susan Peters’ research focuses on determining the systems-level factors that enhance pathways for optimal worker well-being and return-to-work following ill-health or injury, and the development and testing of Total Worker Healthâ (TWH) interventions that target systems-level changes in the conditions of work to improve worker safety, health, and well-being. Dr. Peters has over ten years clinical Occupational Therapist experience from Australia. She received her PhD in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences from the University of Queensland, Australia.

Over the past 4 years, Dr. Peters has held several positions at the Harvard Center for Work, Health, and Well-being. She spearheaded research to develop and validate the Thriving from Work Questionnaire, a measure of worker well-being, which forms the backbone of the Thriving Workers, Thriving Workplaces Study. She has held critical roles in the development and evaluation of TWH interventions designed to create systems-level changes to improve the conditions of work in the construction, transportation and food service industries.
