Susan Johnson McCabe

As Director, Strategic Initiatives at the X-Media Lab, Susan brings her passion for cross-media storytelling, expertise in new program/product development and global experiences to the creation of experiential learning through workshops, curricula, and professional development programs. She is an Adjunct Lecturer in Education and Faculty Chair for the cross-media course, Deeper Than Edutainment offered by HGSE’s professional development program. Susan earned her M.Ed. degree in the Technology, Innovation & Education program at HGSE while serving as Director of HIVE (Harvard GSE Innovation Ventures in Education). Susan also launched her venture, StoryEdge and was selected as a finalist/winner of the 2018 HGSE Dean’s Challenge, Making Caring Common Award.

Susan previously served as the Director of Digital Strategy, at Harvard University, leading new programs and enterprise initiatives. Prior to focusing on the education sector, Susan served as Director of a UX/Interactive Design agency at DXC (formerly CSC), a global management consulting firm, where she worked with multi-national corporations, non-profit organizations and government agencies including the US Department of Education. Susan got her start in all-things-digital at a technology startup serving public/private universities worldwide, She has launched new products/programs, built high-performance teams, and initiated global partnerships in Asia, Europe and North/South America. Susan earned her undergraduate degree at Boston College with honors in English & Communications followed by graduate coursework at Simmons University and the Harvard Extension. She is pursuing her doctoral degree in the Leadership and Learning in Organizations online program at Vanderbilt University
