Mr. Tan Tiong Hock graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Fuel Engineering from University of Leeds. Mr. Tan has over 30 years of experience in the oil Industry and is a leading expert in the technical and commercial aspects of the oil industry. He began his career in the oil business in refinery operations including refinery optimisation, scheduling and strategic planning, before progressing to risk and exposure management. Through the years, Mr. Tan has held various management positions in Shell, Vitol Asia, Caltex Trading (Chevron Texaco) and Goldman Sachs. Before becoming an international oil-trading consultant, he was the Head Strategist in Emirates National Oil Company.

Mr. Tan has been teaching this Executive Education Programme since 2014. He is also lending his expertise in the design of a curriculum related to oil trading at Nanyang Business School at the undergraduate level.
