Terri Morrissey, is a founding Director of This Is. Her core competency is in delivering behaviour change at a deep level with people at all levels in organisations. Her style of working combines innovative and challenging approaches to mindset and behavioural change with down to earth practical examples to create high performing cultures, teams and individuals.
Her career spans all major sectors, public, private, state and voluntary. She has held senior line management responsibilities in a variety of organisations both in the UK and Ireland. She pioneered coaching for female high achievers; she has developed models of best practice for training coaches and trainers in blue chip organisations; and has designed and delivered leading edge programmes for leaders and change agents in a variety of settings.
Her client base has included Dublin Airport Authority, British Airways Engineering, Kimberly-Clark, Unilever, SIPTU, Bank of Ireland, Irish National Government Fora in Health, Local Government, and Education, Diageo, Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, Fujitsu Consulting, Conduit plc, Irish Pernod Ricard and Treasury Holdings.
Her work has included: The Voluntary Health Insurance Board where she worked on a major change programme, developed internal coaches and coached the top 70 leaders; Cap Gemini Ernst & Young where she worked with the top team, coached directors and senior consultants using extensive 360° tools; Fujitsu Consulting where she did a similar programme with the Executive Team and the top consultants, coaching using 360° tools; Conduit plc where she was thought partner to the founder and CEO and coached his senior management team; CPL plc where she worked with the CEO and her senior team of consultants and ran a leadership programme; Performix Technologies, where she and Richard Plenty coached the senior team in Ireland and in Boston. More recently she is working on a major change programme with the Dublin Airport Authority working closely with the Chief Executive Declan Collier and the top 100 leaders.
In This Is, Terri takes responsibility for building business relationships, expanding the client base, and working with leaders and top teams in strategy building and in translating current best practice models of performance into real cultural and behavioural change.
She has recently been asked to join the coaching panel of the London Business School to coach senior executives and directors. She is a core member of the This Is coaching network and maintains close relationships with our coaches.
She is trained and qualified on a number of psychmetric tools including Verax executive level 360° tools and on the Mental Toughness tool MTQ48, and uses a customised version of Talent Q Dimensions as part of the This Is suite of metrics.
Terri's qualifications include an honours degree in Psychology from UCD and an MBA from Fordham University in New York in 1992 where she was a gold medallist, won the Dean's Award for Excellence and a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Society. She also completed an Advanced Management Diploma in Business & Executive Coaching at University College Dublin, Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School and was awarded first class honours.
Terri was a Board member of the Association of Business Psychologists from 2004-2007. She was the conference convenor in 2005 which involved sourcing the speakers and workshop presenters for the conference programme.
Since 2005, Terri has become increasingly well known in the airport sector as an expert on leadership and strategic change. She founded the annual Airport Leadership and Change Management Forum in 2011, and co-organised the 2011 event in Dublin, the 2012 Forum in London and the 2013 event in Bologna. She was invited to facilitate a discusssion on leadership at the Airports Council International World Governing Body in Calgary, Canada in September 2012. She is the co-author of numerous articles, conference papers and publications on matters relating to airport leadership including Airport World, where she will have a regular column in 2014 with her colleague Richard Plenty. She is also the official ACI facilitator/trainer for the airport strategic human resources programme held internationally three to four times a year.
Terri is the author of a number of books and publications. She speaks at numerous conferences and workshops on leadership and behaviour change. Terri was Chairperson of the voluntary organisation Aoibhneas, focused on working with women and children suffering violence in the home for over 23 years and continues to feel very strongly about the impact of domestic violence on children.
In 2012 she was recognised by Irish Tatler magazine as one of the Irish 'Business Women of the Year'.
