Thomas Amadieu is Associate Professor in Strategy and Marketing at the ESSCA School of Management.  Former student of Ecole Normale Superieure and holder of a PhD in Sociology from Sorbonne University (CNU 19 qualifications) in the field of gambling, risk-taking and addiction, he is also an associate researcher at GEMASS (CNRS/Sorbonne University) and at the EU*Asia Institute.

He is involved in various projects adopting a comparative perspective between China and France, on the one hand in the field of market dynamics, norms and consumer representations (sustainable development, gambling, esport) and on the other hand on issues related to work values and distributive justice.

He took part in the Dynegal project – Dynegal – « Dynamiques of inequalities », funded by the ANR (Agence Nationale de la Recherche), coordinating its section devoted to youth representations of distributive justice. He helped to ensure that the results of this major survey were presented in an international symposium and a collective book.

His work has been published in scientific journals (Revue Française de Sociologie, Agora Débat Jeunesse, Droits, Sciences du jeu…), collective works (La France des inégalités, Où est passé la justice sociale?, Mapping Leisure across Borders…) and in a book published by the Editions du Bord de l’ eau.

He regularly communicates at national (French Association of Sociology) and international conferences (Euro-Asia International Research, International Sociological Association, European Sociological Association, Acfas…). And his work has been discussed on television (France 2, France 5, France O, BFM TV), radio (France Culture, France Inter, France Bleu, France Info, RMC, Sud Radio, Europe 1, RTL…) and in the press (La Voix du Nord, Les Inrocks, L’Obs, Marianne, La Tribune, Mediapart, Le Parisien, Le Monde, Challenge, Le Figaro, Le Dauphiné Libéré, Sud-Ouest, Atlantico, Liaisons Sociales Magazine).

He teaches in French and English, in particular Consumer Behavior, International Marketing, Marketing Project, Chinese Business Research Project, Research Methodology, CSR & Business Ethics, Marketing Research, Liberal Arts Seminar, Academic Writing Skills, Evidenced based Management.
