Thomas Woldbye started as CEO in Copenhagen Airports A/S in May 2011. Previously, Thomas Woldbye has worked for A.P. Møller-Maersk for 27 years and has during his career worked approximately 20 years abroad.

In 1983, Thomas Woldbye started his career as a management trainee in A.P Møller-Mærsk, after which he from 1985 until 2004 held several management positions in Indonesia, Singapore, China, Hong Kong, the Netherlands and A.P. Møller-Mærsk's head office in Copenhagen.

During this period, Thomas Woldbye was primarily involved in the management of A.P. Møller-Mærsk’s worldwide container business; Maersk Line except for 2 years as assistant to APMM's CEO, Maersk Mckinney Møller.

In 2001, Thomas Woldbye moved to the Netherlands, where he first held a position as Group Senior Vice President of A.P. Møller-Mærsk and later in 2004 took over as Group CEO of Norfolkline Group with headquarters in The Hague. At that time, Norfolkline Group was part of A.P. Møller-Mærsk Group.

Thomas Woldbye has supplemented his internal training from A.P. Møller-Mærsk with an HD in Financing from Copenhagen Business School and later also with education from London Business School and IMD in Switzerland.

Thomas Woldbye is chairman of the Board of Copenhagen Airports International A/S and Copenhagen Airports Hotel A/S. Besides, Thomas Woldbye has the following board work:

  • Member of the Board of Wonderful Copenhagen
  • Member of the Board of the Center for Leadership
  • Member of DI's Committee for Enterprise
  • Chairman of Veteran charity, Velkommen Hjem
