Background

Tim Carroll serves as associate dean of Executive Development and president of Corporate Solutions, LLC. In these roles, he works with Darla Moore School of Business corporate partners to improve their organizations through executive development, building their talent pipeline and student experiential learning projects that address organizational needs. Carroll works with partners to understand their business needs and help connect them to either custom or existing solutions to help grow their businesses.

Prior to his current role, Carroll served as director of the nationally ranked Professional MBA program. He is also a founding member of the Organizational Design Community, an international group of scholars, executives and organizations dedicated to advancing the theory and practice of organization design. He serves on the Catholic Diocese of Charleston Finance Council, leading efforts to improve school operations and finances in K-12 education across the 35 Catholic schools in the state of South Carolina.

Carroll’s expertise focuses on competitive strategy formulation and strategy implementation. He has consulted and delivered executive development to companies in the aerospace, apparel, banking, computer, construction, energy, engineering services, media, mining, petroleum, pharmaceutical, railroad, restaurant and telecommunication industries, as well as several government agencies. He is an award-winning teacher and has taught strategy, management, organization design and organizational behavior at all levels — ranging from senior executives to doctoral, masters and undergraduate students. His research has been published in a variety of academic journals and book chapters.

Prior to joining the faculty at USC, Carroll was on faculty at Georgia Tech.
