Timothy Bovard joined Columbia Business School in 2016 to teach the MBA elective Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition. He has been Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurship at INSEAD since 2003 where he teaches the popular MBA elective “Realizing Entrepreneurial Potential” focusing on Entrepreneurship through Acquisition: how to search for and acquire a company to manage as CEO. He is the co-creator of INSEAD’s Your First Hundred Days, a unique learning experience that plunges students into managing a company they acquire, and author of numerous cases on Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition. He guest lectures at Chicago Booth School of Business, and is a frequent speaker and panelist at conferences on entrepreneurial acquisitions and the search process. Timothy is also the Founder and CEO of Boston-based Search Fund Accelerator (SFA), a highly innovative accelerator and investment fund aimed at helping entrepreneurs find, buy and manage companies. Each year, SFA brings in a select cohort of searchers and provides them with all the training, coaching and support needed to successfully find and acquire a company to run, while providing all the equity funding needed to make the acquisition. Previously, as Founder and President of CPI S.A., he created Europe’s leading book manufacturer with €500 million in sales and 4000 employees in plants across Europe. Following an initial acquisition in 1996, the group grew over 12 years with 20 add-on acquisitions. In 2008, Timothy left CPI to focus on other investments, consulting and teaching. He is Chairman of the Board of the Association Petits Princes, a French charitable organization that helps severely ill children realize their dreams. Timothy holds an undergraduate degree in Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in NY, a Master of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and an MBA with distinction from INSEAD.
