Biography
UW Professional & Continuing Education
Tommy Unger is the data visualization lead at Qumulo in Seattle, where he leads Qumulo's efforts to analyze and visualize petabytes of data by leveraging a variety of technologies and tools. In this role, Unger incorporates visualization principles as well as design, user experience, statistics and code to help build informative and actionable visualizations.
Prior to joining Qumulo, Unger explored data, solved problems and told stories through visualization in residential real estate and online marketing. He began his career in Seattle at Microsoft, measuring, reporting and visualizing performance of the ASP.NET Web platform. He has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Georgia Tech.

ACHIEVEMENTS
In 2016 I began teaching a technical data visualization strategies course at the University of Washington PCE department. While helping lead the data visualization of the product at Qumulo, I've found time on evenings and weekends to teach data visualization which has been challenging and rewarding.
