Adjunct Professor of Biology at University of Southern Maine

Biography

Dr. Tracy Filler is originally from Hershey, Pennsylvania. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology with a minor in History/World Cultures from St. Francis University. She then went on to pursue a Master’s degree in Cell and Molecular Physiology at Villanova University.

While teaching at Villanova, Dr. Filler decided to pursue a career in Veterinary Medicine. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2002. After graduation, Dr. Filler did an internship at Bath-Brunswick Animal Hospital where she grew to love the state of Maine. Dr. Filler had practiced in Pennsylvania since 2003. However, the desire to return back to Maine was strong leading her to join our office in September of 2015.

Dr. Filler splits her time between Gray-New Gloucester Animal Hospital, SMCC and USM where she is and adjunct professor in Biology. She has a strong interest in internal medicine, feline medicine, and pocket pets such as rabbits, rodents, and guinea pigs. Outside of work, Dr. Filler likes to read, travel and spending time outdoors.
