Biography

Valerie Wood is Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), with extensive experience in the treatment of addictions and eating problems. Valerie is currently an adjunct faculty member at Bergen Community College and at Thomas Edison State College, she has also taught as an adjunct professor at Purchase College (SUNY), and at William Paterson University.

Her work has been published in The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) NJ Focus, and in Bariatrics Today magazine. Valerie has appeared as guest expert on eating problems on television and radio talk shows. She has also been active in community outreach services, including speaking tours at local high schools.

Valerie is featured on Obesity.com, an e-source widely used for weight loss surgery research and has been a member in good standing of the National Association of Social Workers since 1993. Valerie earned her Masters in Social Work at Fordham University Graduate School of Social Service.
