Dr. Van Anh Bui-Tran is the Assistant Director of Field Experience at San José State University's Lurie College of Education. She is passionate about working with teachers to sustain humanizing and community-rooted pedagogies. A graduate of Stanford’s Public History program and the Stanford Teacher Education Program, she taught history in San José before receiving her PhD at Teachers College, Columbia University. She supports the Hollyhock program with the Center to Support Excellence in Teaching. Her research explores experiences of displacement, generational memories, youth narrative and life making, and healing justice.
