Victor Emerson is founder and president of ACUITY RESEARCH GROUP INC., founded in 1992. Victor has a Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology, and he has worked in both the public (university) and private sectors in the areas of telecom/datacom and disability/ accessibility. He has served on the research ethics board of a major Ottawa hospital for over a decade, and is a member of the City of Ottawa's Accessibility Advisory Committee.

Victor has taught research methodology at the graduate and undergraduate level, and currently teaches Marketing Research in the School of Business at Queen's University (Kingston, Ontario). He received extensive technical training in switching products and optical transport at Telcordia's Technical Education Centre. He has also received training in Universal Design. During his 10 years at Bell-Northern Research, Victor earned (with co-inventors) two patents for wireless communications.

In his "other life", Victor's Christmas song "Half a world away", written for members of the Canadian Forces, was played to all deployed troops in the 2004 holiday season. The song was performed by Ottawa singer-songwriter Pat Moore with Pat McLaughlin working his usual guitar magic and adding harmony vocals.
