Biography

Dr. Chiu received her Ph.D. in Accounting from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. She has taught undergraduate and graduate courses including Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Cost Accounting, MBA Accounting Theory and MBA Management Accounting. Prior to joining SUNY Oswego, Dr. Chiu was an Assistant Professor at SUNY New Paltz and the Dean’s Distinguished Graduate Instructor at Rutgers University.

Dr. Chiu’s research interests include accounting bibliometrics, the development and application of continuous auditing, the usage of expert systems in accounting, textual and classification analysis in accounting, and accounting pedagogy. Dr. Chiu's research has been published in the International Journal of Accounting Information Systems, Journal of Accounting Literature, Eurasian Journal of Business and Economics, and Journal of Emerging Technologies in Accounting. She has presented and published conference proceedings at the American Accounting Association (AAA) Annual Meetings and Regional Meetings. Dr. Chiu is a member of the American Accounting Association, Academy of Accounting Historians and Strategic Emerging Technologies Section.
