Biography

Vlerick Business School Executive Education

Walter Van Dyck specialises in technology and innovation management and policy. He’s an expert in the strategic management of innovation and new product development in science-based and technology-intensive industries like life tech and biopharmaceuticals. His research focuses on technology and IP-based business models, innovation decision analytics in public-private contexts and the societal impact of life sciences technology.

Over the past five years, Walter has coached global and multinational companies in the fields of life sciences, smart systems and clean tech to develop more than a hundred innovative ideas.

At Vlerick, he teaches technology and innovation management on our MBA, Masters and executive programmes. He chairs the Technology & Operations Management Area and is the founder and director of the Vlerick Healthcare Management Centre.

Before embarking on his academic career, Walter was a senior strategy consultant with PwC and IBM. He worked in R&D and innovation management – primarily with global pharmaceutical and biotech companies.
