Biography

Will Millhiser began studying the operations of firms before the age of two when his grandfather walked him through the foundry floor of the family business. After a bachelor’s degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering, Professor Millhiser worked for AT&T’s residential long-distance communication division in the 1990s. Then, following a masters in Mathematics and a doctorate in Operations Research (where he specialized in the analytics of Service Operations Management), he joined the Zicklin School of Business in 2006. His teaching of Operations Management and Business Analytics at the BBA, MBA, and executive levels earned him the Baruch College Presidential Excellence Award for Distinguished Teaching in 2013 and the Zicklin School’s Teaching Excellence Award in 2014. Professor Millhiser’s research expertise is in business decision-making under risk and uncertainty, especially applied to service industries such as healthcare service delivery.
