Drawing insights from cross-cultural psychology, cultural intelligence, communication studies and social pragmatics, my study analyzes business people''s verbal performance data we (our multinational research team) collected in three subsidiaries of Carlsberg Group in China, Denmark, and UK.  It investigates the Danish and Chinese communication differences and similarities in  using English as a lingua franca as opposed to the respective native languages as well as British English. The findings of this project will give some new insights into intercultural business communication challenges between Danish/British and Chinese business professionals, including cognition, cultural norms, cultural frames, interpersonal interaction principle and communication strategies.

The project is part of the Global English Business Communication project sponsored by Carlsberg Foundation.
