Zalman Rothschild received a J.D. magna cum laude from Harvard Law School, an M.A. from Yeshiva University, and a Ph.D. in Religion from New York University. He clerked on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and has been a Tikvah Scholar at NYU School of Law, a Faculty Fellow at the Shalom Hartman Institute of North America, and a Fellow at the Center for Comparative Constitutional Law and Religion at the University of Lucerne, Switzerland. His scholarship has appeared or is forthcoming in Columbia Law Review, University of Chicago Law Review, California Law Review, the Journal of Law and Religion, and Cornell Law Review, and has been covered by the New York Times. His writing for popular audiences has appeared in The Atlantic, The Guardian, and Marginalia Los Angeles Review of Books among other outlets. He is currently an associate at a law firm and Adjunct Professor of Law at NYU School of Law.
