Frankfurt School of Finance & Management
Dr. Achim Posthaus is Founder and Managing Director of Alpha Pi Analytics GmbH as well as academic lecturer at the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management.
Prior to founding his company, he has been Director of Debt Markets at Barclays Capital in Frankfurt (2005-2012) among other positions he held such as Head of Financial Institution Structuring Group Germany (2009-2012) and Head of Structured Credit Sales Germany (2005 -2009). From 1999 to 2005, he was Director of Debt Markets at Merrill Lynch Capital Markets Bank responsible for the Structured Solutions Group Germany and from 1997 to 1999 at Commerz Financial Products/ Commerzbank in the Derivatives Product Management.
He finished his PhD in physics at the University of Bonn and the European research center CERN in Geneva (scholarship of „Graduiertenförderung des Landes NRW“ and “Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes”).
Since 2014, Dr. Posthaus is teaching lectures in the Master of Finance Program at the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management, including major topics of Debt Capital Markets, Debt Finance and Risk Management. Furthermore, he is mainly involved in Executive Education seminars at the Frankfurt School. Hereby, he covers Fixed Income, Credit Derivatives and Treasury Management.
His recent research activities has covered artificial intelligence in finance and regulatory driven credit risk models.
