Alain specialised for more than 20 years in mental, emotional, individual and collective performance from psychological and physical point of views and has his roots both in the world of sports and businesses.
Top Sport Coach: Trainer-Coach for the Belgian Tennis Federation (since 1980); Mental Coach for Belgian Men’s Hockey Team, participating to the Beijing Olympic Games 2008. Mental Coach for the Belgian Women’s Hockey Team qualified for the London Olympic Games 2012.
‘Executive Coach’ since 1996 : coaching of corporate leaders and their teams. In 1996, Alain founded the Mentally Fit Institute, a scientific multidisciplinary association which brings together scientists and specialists in energetic areas of human potential: doctors, nutritionists, psychologists and mental coaches.
Today, beside his regular interventions in companies, Alain Goudsmet devotes his time between three complementary activities:
Sport: Alain was the mental coach of the Belgian National Men’s Hockey team, bronze medal winners in the European Championship in Manchester (2007) and Top 10 at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. After Beijing, Alain accepted the challenge to support the Belgian National Women’s Hockey team. This supported their qualification to the 2012 London Olympic Games, the first time in Belgium sport history that a Women’s Team has qualified for the Olympic Games.
Academia : Alain directs and intervenes in several post-graduate programs as an expert in Team Coaching and Human Resources at the Solvay Business School (Brussels) in the Executive Master in Management, as a Adjunct Professor at INSEAD (Fontainebleau) in the MBA and Executive Education Programs, as a leading expert in the Special Diploma in Business Coaching at IESEG in the Post Graduate Education Program (Lille), as the Leading Expert of the Manager Coach Diploma at ICHEC Enterprises (Brussels), in the Post Graduate Education Program and as a Supervisor at Louvain School of Management UCL (Louvain-la-Neuve) in the Master in Business Coaching.
Writing : Alain is the author of ‘The Corporate Athlete’ (Kluwer 2002 in French, Kluwer 2003 in English and Dutch), co-author of ‘Attitude Coach’ (Kluwer 2004, in French) and ‘Tout est dans le caractère’ (It’s all in the character) (Racine/Lannoo 2007, in French & Dutch).
