Biography

Former Accenture’s Technology manager, Alejandro Alija has co-founded a couple of companies for helping industries in their digital sailing. He’s focused on the Industrial Internet of Things and Analytics at scale.

Alejandro’s background is in a pure science (Materials Physics). His expertise is also in Data Science, BI, Advanced Analytics and Industrial Internet of Things. He spent part of his career in the field of Visual Analytics and data contextualization with more than 15 years of experience. Now, his focus in on developing valuable business all-around Industrial IoT (Industry 4.0), Big Data and Machine Learning. He’s always on the customer side of the story. He enjoyed so much dealing with projects and clients. On the opposity, he gets bored with spreadsheets and reporting documents.

Regarding his background, he holds a PhD. in Physics by the University of Oviedo (Condensed Matter Physics). He got a Ph.D. extraordinary award in 2011 and he has collaborated very often with the European Commission as a Peer Reviewer for FP7 and H2020 programs. Author of several scientific articles and patents. He was the president of the Local Section Asturias of the Spanish Royal Society of Physics (2006 and 2015) and board member of Asturias’s Innovation Club and AMETIC Industry 4.0 working group. He enjoys so much writting about science and technology.
