Alberta School of Business
Alifeyah began working at Brownlee LLP in 2008 as a summer student. In 2010, after completing her law degree from the University of Calgary, she joined Brownlee LLP as an articling student. In 2011, upon being called to the bar, Alifeyah joined Brownlee LLP as an associate in the Municipal Law Department.
In 2013, Alifeyah took a position as in-house legal counsel for the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo. In 2014, she became their Manager of Legal Services.
Alifeyah helped the Regional Municipality through the devastating fires of May 2016 and in May of 2017 she rejoined Brownlee LLP’s Municipal Law Department.
Alifeyah’s primary area of practice is planning and development, including drafting planning documents, teaching, advocacy and litigation. Alifeyah has represented municipalities before the SDAB, the Provincial Count, the Court of Queen’s Bench and the Court of Appeal.
Alifeyah also practices in the areas of municipal enforcement, policy development and governance.
Prior to becoming a lawyer, Alifeyah obtained her Bachelor of Arts and her Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta. She taught high school for six years in Edmonton before deciding to pursue a career in law.
Alifeyah is an avid lover of the arts and music and she is an avid reader. Alifeyah also enjoys working out and biking outside. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends.
