Dr. Anastassia Lauterbach is a seasoned global senior executive, entrepreneur, and board director. A global strategist and ICT industry thought leader, she brings a deep understanding of the high-tech ecosystem and has successfully structured mutually beneficial partnership agreements with global tech companies. Lauterbach is also an experienced board member who has been involved with CEO succession and legacy turnaround. She is fluent in six languages (English, French, German, Russian, Serbian, Croatian). She mentors senior leaders and CEO succession candidates.
Lauterbach is a Non-Executive Director of Aircision and Freight One. She is also a member of the Advisory Council of Nasdaq as well as the Diligent Institute. Formerly, she was Non- Executive Director of easyJet PLC, Dun & Bradstreet, and served as Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Censhare AG. As Chair of Risk and Compliance at WireCard AG, she triggered a compliance study that ultimately led to the hiring of KPMG as an extraordinary auditor, and was also an audit committee member. She previously served as an advisory board member of Evolution Equity, TechCity Berlin, Intel, and Star Alliance.
Previously, Lauterbach served as Senior Vice President of Europe Qualcomm, in which she had regional CEO oversight of business development, go-to-market functions, and a P&L responsibility of 4.7 billion Euros, leading expansion into Eastern Europe markets and Turkey. Previously, she served as Senior Vice President of Business Development and Acting Chief Product and Innovation Officer at Deutsche Telekom, during which she spearheaded key divestitures and product rationalization and restructured the captive VC portfolio, initiating deals with major VC firms in Silicon Valley and introducing third-party products for commercial traction. At T-Mobile International, a holding company for Deutsche Telekom AG’s mobile communications outside of Germany, she started as EVP of Strategy.
Lauterbach is currently the CEO and Founder of 1AU-Ventures, a corporate advisory firm focused on delivering machine learning and cybertech solutions to European and US AI and cybersecurity companies, as well as investment funds and analysts. She is a member of Women Corporate Directors and National Association of Corporate Directors. She is an expert speaker on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and innovation. She is also the leading author of “The Artificial Intelligence Imperative: A Roadmap for Business” (Praeger 2018), and contributor to the “The Law of Artificial Intelligence and Smart Machines” (American Bar Association 2019) and “Cognitive Computing” (Apple Executive Series, Publication in 4Q 2020), as well as co-author of other publications, specifically on insurance. Lauterbach serves as Technology Columnist for Handelsblatt and Wirtschaftswoche, and is also Professor of Artificial Intelligence at the XU Exponential University for Applied Sciences Potsdam.
Lauterbach lives in Bonn, Germany with her family. She enjoys the arts and music, and is a talented pianist. As a Fellow of the Salzburg Global Seminar, she contributes to the international networking of executives for international understanding and sustainable development in the fields of corporate governance, technology, law, education and culture.
Anastassia has a Ph.D. in Linguistics and Psychology. She is fluent in six languages.
