Biography

Beth Goldblatt is a Professor in the Faculty of Law at the University of Technology Sydney and a Visiting Professor in the School of Law at the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa. She researches and teaches in the areas of feminist legal theory, equality and discrimination law, comparative constitutional law, and human rights with a focus on economic and social rights, and the right to social security in particular. Her recent research concerns equality-focused responses to climate change. Beth's work informs court decisions, law reform and policy development across jurisdictions on issues of gender, poverty and inequality. Beth is the Internships Program Head, a founder of the Faculty's Feminist Legal Research Group, joint convener of the Faculty Equity and Diversity Group and represents the Faculty on the UTS Diversity and Inclusion Implementation Committee. She is a member of the Law, Health Justice Centre at UTS. Beth is co-director of the Climate Change Working group within the Berkeley Center for Comparative Equality and Anti-Discrimination Law, a member of the Australian Discrimination Law Experts Group, and a member of the The Australian Work + Family Policy Roundtable. She is a co-founder of the Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ESCR) Network (Australia & Aotearoa/New Zealand).
