David Eccles School of Business

Bradden Blair is a Director of Information Systems programs and Assistant Professor (Lecturer) at the University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business.Prior to joining the University of Utah, Bradden was employed as Director of Product Management and Dean of Education for Contexo Media, where he oversaw the company’s healthcare education products and services. While at Contexo Media, Bradden proposed and orchestrated the successful expansion of the company’s 20-year-old education business from live seminars to an online education format. Prior to Contexo Media, Bradden worked for several venture-backed small to medium-sized businesses in both the biotech and financial services industries.Technology innovation has been a common theme throughout Bradden’s career. He is an experienced information technologist, and an open source technology and agile development advocate.Bradden earned his Ph.D. in Health Promotion and Education as well as MBA and MHA degrees from the University of Utah.Education

Research Summary

Bradden’s research interests lie primarily in the area of health information technology, with an emphasis on technology-mediated health promotion and education. Most recently, he has been examining the role of computer mediated social support on health outcomes among rare disease patients. Some of the methodologies being employed in his research include the mining of social data, social network analysis (SNA), structural equations modeling (SEM), and a variety of longitudinal research methods.
