Biography

Brian DeLong led the resurgence of policy debate at Indiana University when he came to IU in 2010. Winner of multiple speaking and professional honors, DeLong has 14 years of policy debate coaching experience, including two national debate championships (one with Wake Forest University and one with University of Kansas). He has led his IU teams to success on the national and regional levels. In 2014, IU hosted the National Debate Tournament and Cross-Examination Debate Association''s national championship debate tournaments. He also directs the annual summer high school Hoosier Debate Camp.

DeLong is a passionate lecturer of argumentation, public speaking, debate, and contemporary political controversies. He has taught classes in public speaking, rhetoric and society, policy and debate, as well as techniques of public speaking and concepts in general speech analysis and presidential rhetoric.
