Carmen has over twenty-five years’ experience as a Big Data Analytics and Data Management expert. He is a recognized leader in the Analytics, Data Visualization, Data Science, Data Governance and “Big Data” space. Currently Carmen leads up Global Data Management and Governance team for State Street bank as the company moves to a data centric, governed, ontology approach to embracing data as a key asset within the organization. Prior to State Street, Carmen has help Global roles in Analytics, Data Architecture and Informatics. Additional, he has built and led an Information and Analytics Practice for Slalom in Boston, which focused on working with clients to enable business focused high impact analytics solutions driven by modern data architecture platforms. Carmen is also an adjunct professor at UC Berkeley and Merrimack College where he teaches courses in Data Visualization, Data Management and "Data Governance, Law and Ethics" in on-line graduate Data Science programs. Additionally, he teaches Data Warehousing, Visualization, Advanced Cloud Computing and Advanced Analytics at Northeastern University in their graduate Professional Studies curriculum. He is a published author and speaks at industry/technology events.
