University of Stellenbosch Business School

Christo Nel concentrates on leadership development for MBA programs. He is the co-author and author of several books on leadership and organizational change, and has spent most of his adult life in a variety of change leadership roles. He is also a published poet.

During the 1980s he brought together more than 100 CEOs and several hundred managers in South Africa to form the Consultative Business Movement (CBM). The purpose of CBM was to unite a critical mass of business leaders to challenge Apartheid and work for a democratic future in South Africa. CBM became the secretariat for South Africa’s breakthrough constitutional negotiations.

Christo has fulfilled a range of executive roles in medium to large corporations and non-executive Chairman of a listed company and an NGO. He has been and continues to be the coach for executives and CEOs. He has run his own leadership and business consulting firm since the early 1980s, and has consulted to several dozen medium to corporate businesses on how to create high performance organization cultures, leadership development, and organizational change. He is also a visiting lecturer at the University of Stellenbosch Business School.
