Biography
Stanford Continuing Studies
In 2017, I founded Criscillia Benford Architecture help people use storytelling, story listening, and design to strengthen relationships, and make organizational cultures psychologically safer for everyone.
I offer capacity-building and self-discovery workshops for individuals through Criscillia Benford Architecture, and co-facilitate Story-Powered Culture Change workshops and Narrative Inquiries with colleagues at Anecdote International.
I am also available for guest lectures. My research-based lectures address a range of topics related to 21st-century communication practices including diversity in the digital age, ethical storytelling, and reducing screen time.
My peer-reviewed research in the fields of Narratology, Neuroscience, and Victorian Literature has been published by The Ohio State University Press, MIT University Press, and Yale University Press. I have presented research findings to expert and non-expert audiences in a variety of contexts, and designed and taught courses in World Literature, the Humanities, Victorian Literature, and Expository Writing at The University of Chicago, Duke, and Stanford.
