Biography

Irène Foglierini is an Affiliate Professor in the Information and Operations Management Departement at ESCP Europe Paris campus. Her teaching areas are Purchasing and Supply Chain Management.

After graduating from a business school with a Master in Management, over a period of 20 years she held various positions in several purchasing organisations (automotive industry, insurances companies and Consulting Groups).

After a Doctorate in Management Science at University of Sorbonne (September 1985), she joined ESCP Europe where she developed Purchasing and Supply Chain Management courses in Masters Programmes and in Corporate Universities.

Her current research concerns TCO (Total Cost Ownership) and TVO (Total Value Ownership) in purchasing organizations. She is also studying the skills of Purchasing Managers and the real situation of Supply Chain Management in the industries today.

She is the author of numerous articles and communications. She has also published several books on Organization (Organisation et gestion des entreprises, Dunod), as well as the first E-learning Programme in Purchasing in Europe.
