Biography

Kurt Verweire is a specialist in helping companies to formulate and implement winning business strategies. He has developed great frameworks that give people sharp insights how to boost performance with a clear winning strategy.Kurt has obtained his PhD at Erasmus University Rotterdam in 1999 and he is now a Strategy Professor and Partner at Vlerick Business School. Kurt has a lot of teaching experience, both with MBA students and with executives. He has done work for BNP Paribas Fortis, Rabobank, Belfius Bank and Belfius Insurance, KPMG, Deloitte, Orangina Schweppes, Aliaxis, AGC Europe and many other companies.

During the last years, Kurt has mainly worked on the topic of strategy implementation and has developed interesting frameworks and case studies on this topic.

Kurt is an enthusiastic Strategy Professor who knows how to translate theoretical concepts into practically relevant insights. One of his major strengths is that he works together with many companies and is close to business practice.

Kurt Verweire specialises in developing and implementing business strategy. His past research has examined the change implications of building successful strategies – and his current focus is on building corporate strategy and how strategy is changing in today’s complex, turbulent world.

Kurt is skilled at translating theoretical concepts into practical insights. He’s written award-winning case studies and developed hands-on toolkits and frameworks that give organisations valuable insights on how strategy can boost performance. He has authored several books – including Strategy Implementation and Six Batteries of Change.

At Vlerick, Kurt has vast experience teaching both MBA students and executives and has coached many Belgian and international companies in building and implementing winning strategies. He’s the Director of the Advanced Management Programme and one of the driving forces behind the Strategy in Action Platform.
