Maddie Herman

In the newly created position of Assistant Director of Intramurals and Recreation, Maddie Herman joins the Griffin Athletic Staff with new endeavors for the 2016-17 academic year. She plans to implement Intramural and Recreation activities such as dodgeball, wiffle ball, basketball, and flag football competitions along with a variety of others.

Herman comes to Gwynedd Mercy after spending last year at Villanova University working in operations and program management in campus recreation where she oversaw three fitness centers and over fifty student staff members including personal trainers and group exercise instructors. She was in charge of creating and implementing numerous recreation programs.

She is a sport management graduate of East Stroudsburg University where she also worked in facility management for recreation. As a freshman at ESU, Herman was promoted to a facility manager where she was a chair of the hiring committee and helped to plan a variety of special events for students. She aided in the implementation of collaborative campus events such as the Rec-Ex 5K and Muddy Madness, assisted in marketing of Recreation Center Special Events such as dodgeball and Late Night at the Rec, performed tours of the facility to students, prospective students and families.
