Marc Caron

​Dr. Marc Caron, Canadian and Swiss, completed a Ph.D. in Biology at the University of Lausanne (Switzerland), that followed graduate studies at the University of Quebec (Canada) – Bachelor in Biology in Chicoutimi and MSc in Biology in Montreal. After three years of post-doctorate research in industry, Marc started a corporate career in the health industry where, over the years, he enjoyed progressive executive positions with Covance, a world leader contract research organisation servicing the top 50 pharmaceutical and biotechnical global corporations. Over 12 years, Marc Caron was promoted from Project Manager in charge of major global accounts to Director of Global Project Management, before ending his Covance career as Head of Global Process Improvement, Member of the Global Operating Committee. Then Marc decided to join a pharmaceutical manufacturer, Debiopharm, in order to have direct control of several drug development programmes that lasted six years.

In addition to his Ph.D. in Biology, Marc has certifications in Talent Management and Executive Development (from IMD, Switzerland), Health Economics and Health Management (from the University of Lausanne) and is Black Belt certified in Lean Six Sigma (from the Six Sigma Academy, USA).

Since 2014, Dr. Caron moved into consulting and academia focusing on health and sports organizations as well as SME's. His principal areas of counsel are strategy, change management, coaching, people development, executive targeted selection, performance assessment, team building and, of course, project management, and process improvement.

In academia, Dr. Caron is teaching in two Swiss business schools, at the bachelor, master and DBA levels in his various areas of specialty listed above, plus Sports Management (in parallel to his professional activity, he has been a very successful basketball coach at national league level in Switzerland).

Since 2014, Marc Caron is also a Board Member of Fondation Ressource, a Swiss foundation managing institutions dedicated to treatment of drug addictions.
