HEC Paris

Marc Vermeulen is an Affilated Professor (Professeur Affilié) at HEC Paris, teaching Finance in all of its main programs, including Grande Ecole, MBA and Executive Education.

He has been a banker since the beginning of his career until 2017, at Paribas and then at BNP Paribas.

He started his career within the CFO Department of Paribas, then acted as Assistant to the Chairman & CEO and became Head of Financial Control (Directeur du Contrôle de Gestion) of the Paribas Group.

He pursued his career as Head of Equity Syndicate and Head of Equity Capital Markets in Paris (primary issues, privatisations, ...).

In investment banking, he has held various geographic and sectorial senior positions in the Corporate Finance Division of the Bank, as a Managing Director, and has become a Member of its Executive Committee.

He also served as a Senior Banker, in charge of the global relationship with several strategic clients of the Bank and he has spent almost 10 years as Global Head of the Financial Sponsors Coverage Group (client coverage of Private Equity Funds on a worldwide basis) for BNP Paribas.

As a long-standing investment banker, he has originated and executed, as a financial advisor, a vast array of large transactions both in M&A (for private and listed companies) and in ECM (IPOs, privatisations, capital increases, ...).

He graduated at HEC Paris in 1975. He is married, with two children.
