Background and Education
Professor Albertini''s research interests focus on intergenerational relations, including: the exchange of resources between generations within the family, the consequences of separation and divorce on children''s educational level and parent-child relations, the comparative study of income inequality and social stratification, the consequences of childlessness on elderly support networks, and long-term care policies for the ageing.
Professor Albertini has been Research Assistant at the European University Institute, Visiting Professor at Pompeu Fabra University and Junior Researcher at the Center for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences of the Juan March Institute; since 2013 he has been a member of the Programme Committee of the PhD programme in Sociology of the University of Trento, and in 2014 he was Short Term Consultant to the World Bank for the Regional Aging Report in Europe and Central Asia; between 2011 and 2014 he was a member of the Roundtable on Welfare Innovation of the Fondazione Alma Mater; in 2011 and 2012 he was Visiting Scholar and Sunstrat Guest Researcher at the Swedish Institute for Social Research.
