My office is room 110d on the first floor of the Zochonis Building.

Division of Psychology and Mental Health
The University of Manchester
Zochonis Building
Brunswick Street
Manchester
M13 9PL

My core activities are lecturing, advising and course development across a range of areas of the BSc programme in Psychology.

My background and specialism is in social psychology, though my work in teaching, learning and assessment has a broad reach across the undergraduate degree. I am responsible for Postgraduate Teaching Assistant training and development in Psychology. Previously, I oversaw the BSc Psychology with International Study degree route for a number of years from its launch.

My Higher Education research is funded by the University''s Centre for Higher Education Research, Innovation and Learning (CHERIL), the Manchester-Melbourne collaborative fund, and is also supported by an SPS Education Innovation and Evaluation grant in the School.

First year or final year students who are my academic advisees should feel free to contact me in the first instance to discuss any academic matters or difficulties. A meeting can always easily be arranged.

Teaching

My undergraduate teaching is principally in social psychology, but spans Psychology as a discipline. For example, I have contributed to the courses PSYC10100 Research Methods and StatisticsPSYC11312 Sensation and Perception, PSYC10410 Psychology in Action, and PSYC21702 Topics and Issues in Social Psychology in recent years, and a few more besides.

In 2016-17 I will again be delivering our large First Year social psychology course.

Autumn 2016 also brings a brand new course, with colleague Stephanie Baines. In this Third Year unit, we draw upon concepts from politics and neuroscience to interpret a constantly shifting political, social and technological landscape. We examine evidence from psychological research to look deeper at our social worlds in 2016 - a quite remarkable political year.
