Biography

Dr. Matthew Grosse is a lecturer at UTS Business School in the Accounting Discipline Group, which he joined in 2014. Prior to joining UTS, Matthew completed a Bachelor of Business (Honours) in Finance and a Ph.D. in Accounting. During his Ph.D., Matthew was awarded a UTS Doctoral Scholarship and an Australian Finance and Accounting Association of Australia and New Zealand (AFAANZ) scholarship.
Matthew currently teaches courses covering introductory accounting, financial statement analysis and business valuation to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. During 2018 – 2019, Matthew lectured undergraduate students in management accounting at the London School of Economics (LSE) and taught postgraduate introductory accounting at the London Business School (LBS).
Matthew conducts empirical archival research focused on Australian listed companies with a particular interest on the intersection of accounting information and capital markets, as well as corporate governance, CEO compensation, and the economics of auditing. His research has been published in a number of peer-reviewed journals, including Accounting & Finance, International Journal of Auditing, Australian Journal of Management, and the Australian Accounting Review.
