Ola Mahmoud is Assistant Professor of Quantitative Economics at the School of Economics and Political Science of the University of St.Gallen. Previously, Professor Mahmoud worked as a quantitative investment strategist at Pictet & Cie and a researcher at Morgan Stanley Capital International.
Expertise
Professor Mahmoud is studying the microeconomic behavioral foundations as well as the macroeconomic empirical implications of sustainability in the financial market. In recent work, she identifies the direct impact channels of sustainability in the financial market that may have a positive, or negative, effect on the reduction, or increase, of inequality and poverty. From a policy perspective, the main goal is to identify how corporations and countries can make sustainable changes to economies in a way that reduces inequality and poverty.
