Biography
Cork University Business School
Pat Enright has been a Lecturer in the Department of Food Business and Development at University College Cork since 1996. Prior to this, he has held various management positions in a major Irish food company. He has an MA in rural development from the University of Alberta in Canada and a PhD in economic geography from the University of Leicester. His research interests and publications focus on agricultural and rural change and food and rural policy interventions, interests also include restructuring in the food industry and the globalisation of agriculture and food. Involvement in recent projects include:, partner in QEDU project with SUA Slovakia (2012-2013), UCC project leader of TERESA (Types of Interaction between Environment, Rural Economy, Society and Agriculture in European regions) EU 5th Framework project (2007-2009), team member of DAFF funded Rural Enterprise Development and Sustainability Research Project (2004-2005). He is also an active member of the Regional Studies Association and Academic Director of the Diploma in Corporate Direction (Food Business) and is Director of the BComm International.
