Peter Zeitz received his PhD in economics from the University of California at Los Angeles in 2010. Specializing in economic history and industrial organization, Zeitz's research interests include productivity change in Chinese industry during the twentieth century, the mechanics of international transfers of knowledge, and personnel economics. His doctoral research has focused on the effects of performance incentives on the productivity of Chinese state-owned enterprises, the transfer of textile technology to China prior to World War II, and the effects of trade in capital goods on productivity trends in Chinese industry. His research has been supported by the Fulbright program as well as grants from the National Science Foundation and the University of California Pacific Rim Program.
