Roger Gibbard

Roger has been a member of staff at the University for over 25 years, and has held a number of key positions, including Head of School and School Director of Teaching & Learning.

As Dean, Roger is closely involved with developing the University’s strategy for Teaching and Learning. His remit includes oversight of programmes delivered at the University of Reading Malaysia as well as the School of Built Environment and Henley Business School campuses worldwide. He has been behind a number of recent international teaching collaborations on behalf of the Business School, particularly in China and South Africa. He takes forward this role for the University more generally. 

With a background rooted in matters agricultural, Roger is a rural chartered surveyor, and a Fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers. His academic interests encompass rural land management generally, with specific focus on property law, compulsory purchase, and property and business taxation. His teaching includes agricultural law and valuation, property taxation, and rural land management.
